5 Radiant Traits of Young Women Who Walk in True Identity

Ever noticed how a girl who’s discovered her true identity just radiates? It’s not just about how she looks. Her whole vibe is different – how she thinks, talks, acts, even how she tackles life’s challenges.

Maybe you’ve known someone who went from shy wallflower to confident speaker, like a caterpillar emerging from its cocoon, transformed into a beautiful butterfly. Or perhaps you’ve witnessed a transformation like the Samaritan woman at the well.

She had gone through a lot – multiple heartbreaks, failed relationships, and even a broken marriage. The weight of shame and judgment had isolated her from her community, leading her to seek solace in solitude.

But one fateful day at the well, an encounter with Jesus changed everything. He didn’t condemn her; He saw her true value and potential. As they spoke, the scales of shame fell from her eyes, and she discovered her TRUE identity in Christ. This newfound confidence ignited a fire within her.

The Bible tells us she left her water jar behind and ran back to her village, excitedly proclaiming, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” (John 4:29). Her once-isolated heart overflowed with joy and purpose, and she couldn’t wait to share it with others.

These women, both in the Bible and in our world today, shine brightly because they know who they are in Christ. So, what’s their secret?

Let’s dive into five radiant traits they embody – traits you can cultivate too:

1. They Nurture a Deep Connection with God

These women don’t just read the Bible; they devour it like a delicious meal, savouring every word and letting it nourish their souls. They memorize verses, turning God’s truth into a powerful weapon against the lies of the enemy.

Prayer isn’t just a ritual for them; it’s an ongoing conversation with their Heavenly Father. They pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), keeping their spiritual antennas tuned in to God’s voice. This constant communication helps them discern between societal stereotypes and God’s unique prototype for their lives. They understand that knowing God isn’t just about head knowledge but about heart transformation.

2. They Surround Themselves with Champions of Faith

These women know the power of community. They intentionally seek out friends who are also on a journey of faith, people who will cheer them on, challenge them to grow and hold them accountable. They create safe spaces where they can be authentic and vulnerable, knowing they won’t be judged or condemned.

Think of it like this: If you want to become a world-class athlete, you don’t train with couch potatoes. You train with other athletes who push you to be your best. The same principle applies to your spiritual life. Surround yourself with women who are also striving to live out their faith, and watch your light shine even brighter.

Iron sharpeneth iron; So a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

(Proverbs 27: 17)

3. They Fearlessly Declare Their Identity

These women aren’t afraid to let their light shine. They’re open about their faith, values, and beliefs, even when it’s unpopular or goes against the grain. They understand that their identity in Christ is a badge of honor, not something to be hidden away.

They don’t shy away from difficult conversations or hesitate to speak up for what they believe in. Their boldness inspires others and creates a ripple effect of positive change. I can’t tell you enough how declaring and embodying my identity in Christ saves me from avoidable bad relationships, temptations and activities. By living out the Christian life and what I can and cannot do as a “born again” Christian, they learn how to relate with me. And you have to do that with consistent confidence and radiance for them to believe and adjust themselves to see you as a Radiant Daughter of God. “ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5: 16)

4. They Continually Feed Their Minds and Spirits

These women are lifelong learners, always seeking to grow and expand their knowledge. They’re like sponges, soaking up information from various sources – books, podcasts, sermons, conferences, and mentors.

They understand that knowledge is power, and they’re committed to using that power to become the best version of themselves. They know that growing in their faith and developing their skills will equip them to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

(2 Timothy 2: 15)

5. They Align Their Actions with Their Beliefs

These women are intentional about their choices. Before making a decision, they pause and ask themselves, “Does this align with my true identity in Christ?”

For example, if they’re tempted to wear something revealing, they consider: “Does this dressing please God and portray Godliness or am I trying to simply seek attention?” If they’re afraid to speak up, they remind themselves that God hasn’t given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

This constant self-reflection helps them make choices that honour God and reflect their true identity.

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

1 Corinthians 10: 31-33

Your Identity in Christ: Declaring God’s Truth

To walk in your true identity, speak these powerful truths over your life:

·  I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

·  I am a cornerstone polished after the similitude of a palace (Isaiah 28:16).

·  He who began a good work in me will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6).

·  God has redeemed me from the curse of the Law (Galatians 3:13).

·  I am who God says I am (Ephesians 2:10).

·  There is therefore now no condemnation for me because I am in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).

·  I am the light of the world (Matthew 5:14).

·  The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in me and gives life to my mortal body (Romans 8:11).

·  Whatever I decree on earth shall be decreed in heaven (Matthew 18:18).

·  I can come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

Remember, your identity is not determined by the world’s standards, but by the unshakable truth of God’s Word. As you embrace this truth and live it out, you’ll discover the radiant joy and purpose that comes from walking in your true identity – the one God created just for you.
